It starts
Al Jidar opens in Tripoli, importing tires and batteries. From day one the model is simple: bring the brands the world trusts into Libya, through official channels, held in real stock.
Al Jidar has distributed across Libya since 2008 — through revolution, through a power crisis that reshaped the country, and through the long work of rebuilding. The story of the company is, in part, the story of the country it serves.
Al Jidar opens in Tripoli, importing tires and batteries. From day one the model is simple: bring the brands the world trusts into Libya, through official channels, held in real stock.
The foundational partnerships are signed and the first containers land in Tripoli. The portfolio that would define Al Jidar begins.
Revolution. Supply chains fracture across Libya, businesses shutter, imports stall. Al Jidar doesn't close — not for a day. The warehouses stay stocked, the dealers stay supplied, and reliable distribution becomes more essential than ever.
With the grid damaged and outages stretching to 10, 20 hours a day, Libyans turn to generators to keep homes and businesses running. A national power problem becomes a daily one.
Conflict returns and the country splits. Through fuel shortages, port disruptions and a divided market, the operation runs without interruption. Six years in, and the doors have never closed. The years that ended many businesses proved which ones were built to last.
Al Jidar adds generators to the operation — portable sets for homes, standby power for businesses, industrial units for sites. The same official-channel model, applied to power.
When global supply chains seize under COVID, stock held in depth stops being a policy and becomes the difference. While the world waited on shipping, Al Jidar's dealers kept selling. Still open. Still moving.
The portfolio reaches fourteen official partnerships across tires, batteries and power — built deliberately, and still growing. Every brand earns its place; the roster is never finished.
The generators business is transferred to Al Nawaa (النواة). Al Jidar focuses on tires and batteries.
A new identity, a new digital home, the same operation underneath — one that has never stopped running since 2008. Al Jidar enters its third decade the way it entered its first: open, stocked, and building.
Every brand we carry, we carry as the authorized agent. Genuine stock, real warranties, no grey-market shortcuts.
We keep inventory on the ground and rotated, so an order becomes a delivery — not a back-order.
From the port to the final sale, one operation answers for it. Nothing outsourced to chance.
Dealer, fleet, or distribution enquiries — direct line to the team that runs the operation.
